About Services First Limited

About Services First Limited: Services First Limited was founded in 1998 specialising in drainage solutions assisting architects, structural and civil engineers and technical design teams. Services First Limited’s immediate goal was to supply a wide range of engineering services to assist architects and design teams with our engineering department staffed by ex-utilities engineers. We work mainly in the Thames Water Essex Water and Anglian Water areas but we will work further afield if the scale of the project demands it.

We have a core of highly professional engineers who provide comprehensive and continual supervision throughout each contract. Because no two contracts are ever the same, we operate a flexible working system and build each project team around the individual skills required for that job.

Director Michael Caldwell looked at the inadequacies of the utilities companies and decided that it was time that a company was formed with a real understanding of the new utilities legislation.

Services First Limited aims to force newly deregulated utilities companies to follow government recommended guidelines. They are now a commercial entity and often forget their regulatory restraints.

Further the company found that there are many companies that do not understand the detailed regulations such as the Water Act 1991. Services First Limited have been able to assist many companies unravel the bureaucracy surrounding these government regulations.

Services First Limited are located in the heart of our main operations area London Docklands, which means we can react rapidly when demanded at short notice.

Our company employs many ex-TWUL and local authority staff whose experience and input has moved delayed/problematic schemes forward on more plenty of occasions.

This understanding of the WIA, Sewers For Adoption 6th Edition, Highways Act, Section 38 and Water and Water Authorities working practices requires them to act within their own guidelines, impacting on the speeds of applications and installations. This has a fantastic effect on most companies projects, the early completion of works.
